Getting a score onto your phone
iOS does not let any app install a tone for you. No app in this category can, and none of them do. The export is the product; the last few taps are Apple's.
Installing a score
- Export it. Open the score in the app and tap Export. You get one file.
- Hand it to iOS. Open the file in GarageBand. Press and hold it, then choose Share → Ringtone.
- Cast it. Open Contacts, pick the person, tap Ringtone and choose your score. From then on it is the sound they make when they call, and nobody else hears it.
To give a score to everyone rather than one person, go to
Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone instead.
Restoring what you bought
Your scores are tied to your Apple Account, not to a password we hold. On a new phone, install the app and tap Restore purchases. Everything you have bought comes back. There is no account to sign into because we never made one.
Common questions
- Can I listen before buying? Yes, and all the way through. Every score in the catalogue plays in full inside the app, free. You pay when you want to keep one.
- Is there a subscription? No. One payment, and the score is yours.
- Can I use a score as my alarm? Yes. Once it is installed as a tone, iOS offers it anywhere it offers a ringtone.
- Will the same score sound different later? If a score is ever remastered you get the new version at no cost, in the same place, under the same number.
- Can I use a score in a video I post? Yes, and in anything else you make. See the licence — there is one rule and it is short.
- Why is every score under thirty seconds? That is the length iOS accepts for a tone. Each one is written to be complete at that length, not cut down to it.
